Tax Practitioners Board Disclosure

Synergy Accountants & Business Advisers Pty Ltd and the entities listed below (collectively referred to herein as “Synergy”) are registered tax agents with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and are subject to the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 (TASA), including the Code of Professional Conduct (Code)

As of 1 July 2025, the Code requires all registered tax agents to advise all current and prospective clients of certain matters as set out below.

How to make a complaint about our services to the TPB


If you have any issues or concerns in relation to the tax agent services provided by Synergy, please contact our office on 1300 324 588 or info@synergyconsolidated.com.au. We will work with you to resolve these matters as quickly as possible.

The TPB also has a process for making a complaint about service that has been provided by a registered tax practitioner. You can provide information or make a complaint about a registered tax practitioner using the TPB online form. Further information about the TPB complaints process can be found on the TPB website


General information about rights, responsibilities and obligations


We must advise you of our rights, responsibilities and obligations as a tax practitioner, including to you, and the obligations you have to us.


Synergy will:


  • Act honestly and with integrity;
  • Uphold and promote the ethical standards of the tax profession;
  • Act lawfully in your best interests;
  • Manage any conflicts of interest; and
  • Take reasonable care to ascertain your state of affairs and correctly apply tax laws.


Under the taxation laws, clients also have obligations to their registered tax practitioner including, but not limited to:


  • Being truthful with the information they provide
  • Keeping the required records and providing them (if required) on a timely basis
  • Advising of any changes that may impact the tax agent services to be provided; and
  • Being co-operative with their tax practitioner’s requests and meeting their due dates.

Notification of prescribed events

We are required to disclose whether any of the following events have occurred to Synergy registered tax agent entities and provide the relevant details:


  • Suspension or termination of tax agent registration.
  • Undischarged bankrupt or in external administration.
  • Convicted of a serious tax offence, or an offence involving fraud or dishonesty.
  • Serving or sentenced to a term of imprisonment in Australia for 6 months or more.
  • Penalised, subject to an injunction, or been subject to an order for breaching a voluntary undertaking, for:
  • Being a promoter of a tax exploitation scheme;
  • Implementing a scheme that has been promoted on the basis of conformity with a public ruling, private ruling or oral ruling in a way that is materially different from that described in the ruling; or
  • Promoting on the basis of conformity with a public ruling, private ruling or oral ruling a scheme that is materially different from that described in the ruling.
  • Ordered by the Federal Court to pay a pecuniary penalty for contravening a civil penalty provision under the TASA.


As of 1 July 2025, there are no matters to disclose regarding the prescribed events above during the relevant period.

Is tax agent registration subject to conditions


If a condition is imposed on the registration of a Synergy tax agent entity after 1 July 2025, we will disclose the matter here.


As of 1 July 2025, there are no conditions that apply to the registrations of the Synergy tax agent entities.
